De avonturier Jack Colton en romanschrijfster Joan Wilder maken een tocht door de woestijnen van Noord-Afrika met de heethoofdige aartsvijand Ralph in hun kielzog. Het drietal speurt naar een juweel, maar moet eerst razende wervelstormen, krijgshaftige woestijnbendes en de kwaadaardige Omar zien te overleven om hun doel te kunnen bereiken.
