Het Britse weerstation Zebra, gelegen op de Noordpool, gaat in vlammen op. Om de wetenschappers te redden, wordt de Amerikaanse onderzeeër The Dolphin richting Poolzee gestuurd. Als de bemanning de plaats van bestemming bereikt, blijkt dat er van een ongeluk geen sprake is... en dat de saboteurs nog ter plaatse moeten zijn!
